Primary Teachers Fast-Tracked to Residence
From 26 March 2025, eligible primary and intermediate teachers can apply for residence in New Zealand without first working for two years.
To qualify for fast-tracked residence, applicants must:
Must have a job offer from an accredited New Zealand employer
Meet wage, employment and qualification requirements
Meet New Zealand registration requirements
Meet character and health requirements
Relevant roles include primary and intermediate teachers as well as Māori-medium equivalents.
